Hartley remained 16 clear at the top of the Kent League Premier Division after beating defending champions Sevenoaks Vine by seven wickets on Saturday.

Vine batted first and were 63-6 at one stage before finally being dismissed for 165.

Karl Pearson finished unbeaten on 40 while James Thompson took 3-14.

David Thompson (35), James Hockley (43 not out) and Thompson (28 not out) saw the home side home.

The defeat leaves Vine fourth, 46 points behind Hartley.

Second-placed Beckenham, who play Hartley on Saturday, won by four wickets at bottom side Folkestone.

Kent's Ben Harmison (62), Leon Morgan (54) and Himanshu Waingankar (62) guided Folkestone to 253-9. Johan Malcolm finished with 3-40.

Opener Malcolm then scored 33 in the run-chase before Alexander Senn (88) and William MacVicar (98) shared a 146-run second wicket partnership to set up the win.

Blackheath won by 32 runs at Tunbridge Wells to stay third.

The visitors posted 226-8 with Richard Fleming (60) and Warren Lee (54) the major contributors.

Tunbridge Wells replied with 194 all-out with Nick Selman making 47 and James Madgwick 45.

Tanweer Sikander (3-40) and Dipyan Paul (3-34) did the damage.

Second-bottom Sandwich Town gave their hopes of avoiding relegation a boost with a three-wicket win at Lordswood.

Linden Lockhart made 104 as Lordswood posted 242-8.

Sandwich opener Alex Smith (86) and his captain, Robbie Goatham (62), led the reply with a 117-run second-wicket partnership.

In the other game of the round, Bexley defeated Bromley by 70 runs.

Bexley made 249 with Adeel Malik scoring 89 off 60 balls, including five sixes and 10 fours.

Scott Barlow (3-41) and Richard Selvey-Clinton (3-49) shared the bowling honours.

Bromley replied with 179-8 with opener Callum Basey making 57 and Shavawn Cunningham getting 52 before both were dismissed by Kent spinner Adam Riley (3-38).
