Ebbsfleet United striker Danny Kedwell may be asked to play in defence

Danny Kedwell could play his 200th game for Ebbsfleet United as a centre-half.
The striker reached 199 appearances for the club with a 10-minute cameo in defence to help Fleet complete a 3-0 win over Maidenhead on Tuesday.
With Dave Winfield still out injured and right-back Lawrie Wilson unwell, it could be a role Kedwell fills again when Boreham Wood visit Stonebridge Road this weekend.
Manager Garry Hill said: “I wouldn’t be frightened of putting Danny Kedwell in at centre-half.
“He might have only gone in there for 10 minutes but I wouldn’t rule that one out.
“He’s experienced, he heads it, he kicks it and he has positional sense so don’t rule that one out for Saturday.”
Kedwell has made 39 appearances already this season, scoring 12 goals which means his Ebbsfleet total is now 64..
Hill paired Michael Cheek with Gozie Ugwu against Maidenhead but insists Kedwell remains a big part of his plans.
He said: “Danny Kedwell will still do a good job for us up top. We mustn’t dismiss Danny Kedwell out of the forward line.
“He’s a big player and if you get balls into the box, Danny Kedwell’s going to get on the end of them, like Gozie and Michael Cheek.
“Being fair to Michael Cheek and Danny Kedwell, over recent games, we haven’t created enough or got balls into the penalty area.
“All teams go through that spell. We know we’re very thin on bodies and you have to make decisions sometimes.
“Do you believe in what you’ve got here and move it around or do you start panicking? We haven’t panicked and that was a big win for us.”
