Ebbsfleet United boss Daryl McMahon on the play-off win over Hampton & Richmond Borough
12:15, 08 May 2017
Daryl McMahon described his joy at leading Ebbsfleet to another play-off final.
McMahon's side beat Hampton & Richmond 4-2 over two legs to set up a final clash with Chelmsford at Stonebridge Road on Saturday.
They led 2-1 from the first leg and goals from Kenny Clark and Darren McQueen, either side of Jerome Federico's strike for the Beavers, got the job done on Sunday.

McMahon said: "The over-riding emotion is joy. We’re happy to be in the final.
"In the first half we played particularly well but the second half was very bitty, very stop-start and probably ugly for everyone to watch.
"It’s always nervy in these situations. You very rarely see a clear-cut play-off semi-final or final, they’re normally really close affairs and Hampton worked extremely hard.
"We had a number of opportunities to kill the game off, didn’t take them and then right at the end Darren did, so that was the game done.
"Hampton get it forward quickly and you’ve got to win second balls and have the confidence and quality to get it down and play. I thought, in the first halves of both games, we did.
"We got the ball down and moved it nicely, not so much in the second halves but overall, with a 4-2 victory, we’re happy."
There were plenty of nerves around Stonebridge Road until McQueen ran through to lob home his 19th goal of the season with just one minute of normal time remaining.
McMahon said: "He’s great in those positions. He anticipates things well and he really is a very good footballer.
"It’s unusual to have a player like him at this level because he’s so fast but technically so good as well. He’s got a nice combination of both.
"He needs to improve tactically and he knows that, he’s working really hard but that’s 19 goals for him this year. It’s a great return for a player in his first season at this level."
