Ebbsfleet defender Sam Magri is waiting for news on a nasty-looking knee injury.

Magri had to come off during the second half of the Fleet's 1-1 draw at Leyton Orient on Saturday.

He left the ground with his leg in a brace and boss Daryl McMahon is concerned.

"We don't know yet but it's not looking good," said McMahon.

"It's a medial ligament injury but we won't know how bad it is until we get him scanned this week.

"We've had four or five knee injuries now and Magri will probably be our player of the season. I'd be shocked if he's not.

"He's been terrific for us so if we have to miss him, that will probably mean it could be for the season if it is a medial injury, realistically, but we'll see. That's the negative side of it so let's be positive."

McMahon was the last man off the pitch at Brisbane Road after staying to applaud the 546 fans who travelled from Kent to support their team.

"Unbelievable," said McMahon. "I thought they were terrific, absolutely brilliant, our fans, and they have been not just today but the ones that went to Hartlepool and Halifax.

"They've been excellent for us to be fair and I hope they enjoyed today."

A game of few chances saw Ebbsfleet lead through Corey Whitely before captain Dave Winfield put through his own net to give the O's a share of the spoils.

McMahon said: "Neither keeper had anything to do. There was some defending to do in our box, which we did really well. It's a good point and we keep going.

"We're new to the division and we're not far off the biggest points tally the club's ever had in this league, which I'm pretty confident we'll go through, and then we'll build on that.

"People get carried away with where we are. We've come to Leyton Orient and 'is it good enough that we've got a point?'

"We were at Whitehawk last year and there were 4,000 people here today, which is not bad. We just need a reality check sometimes. We're working hard and hopefully we'll get into the top 10, like I've been saying all season.
