Daryl McMahon said Danny Haynes' performance for Ebbsfleet against Truro on Saturday was his best for the club since joining in the summer.

The former Ipswich and Charlton winger looked lively throughout at Stonebridge Road, creating some good chances and going close to scoring himself.

Fleet were held to a 0-0 draw but Haynes was praised by his manager afterwards.

McMahon said: "It was good for Haynesy to get through 90 minutes and I thought it was his best performance for us so far as well. That was definitely pleasing.

"He’s probably at this level because he hasn’t been consistent enough.

"He has got Premier League quality, without a doubt. He’s got unbelievable quality but it’s just bringing the game together for him.

"Saturday was his best performance for us so far. He worked hard, defended well, attacked well and he was really good.

"I said to him in the changing-room ‘You’ve got to build on this now. This has got to be your worst performance of the season for the rest of the season. You’ve got to get above this every week’."

Haynes played right-wing-back in a 3-5-2 shape with Anthony Cook on the opposite flank.

McMahon said: "Him and Cookie worked ever so hard in the role. They gave us good defensive stability.

"It was the best performance with us playing that formation, it wasn’t a game of basketball like it has been in some of the other games where it was just end-to-end. We controlled the game.

"It’s a formation that gets us to have Haynes, Cook, Parkes, Godden and Kedwell in one team.

"There’s probably not another way of fitting it all in. I’ve tried - I wrote it down on about a million bits of paper. It’s a way of squeezing everyone in.

"We’ve got some fantastic attacking players and I want them all in the team, as much as I can."
