Ebbsfleet have the chance to topple another of the title challengers at Stonebridge Road this weekend.

Garry Hill’s side entertain Solihull Moors on Saturday with the visitors just three points behind National League leaders Leyton Orient.

Fleet beat Orient 2-0 in their last home game and haven’t dropped a point there since Hill was appointed manager in November.

A seventh straight home win could take them to within a point of the play-offs but unfancied Solihull will have other ideas.

Hill said: “I’ve had them watched and they’re a big, strong, physical side with a lot of quality players.

“They’ve got a lot of good options up top, a very powerful forward line and all credit to (manager) Tim Flowers.

“He’s done very well to carry on from Mark Yates, who went there and did well.

“They’ve probably exceeded where they expected to be but quietly and confidently they’ve gone about their job and done very well.

“Everyone you play against, we know they’re all different types of challenges and this is another strong challenge.

“Without doubt, they’ve been the surprise package so far this season and we know we’ll have to be at our best to get any kind of result against them.

“You can’t go into a situation and not put in the performances from every player or collectively as a team.”

This will be Fleet’s first home game for three weeks after Hartlepool’s scheduled visit on Saturday was postponed because of a frozen pitch.

More than 3,000 packed into Stonebridge Road for the Orient clash and Hill called for more noisy backing from the terraces.

He said: “In that game Orient had a great deal of support and there was a good atmosphere.

“Overall the supporters have got behind the team every time since we’ve been at the club.

“I like to think they’ve been treated to some good performances.

“The results reflect that and we’ve got a lot of very tough home games to come. We’ll take each one as it comes along.

“We’ve got to play a lot of the top teams at home and we’d like to give the supporters that brand of football until the end of the season which I like to feel we’ve been playing.”

So what do Hill and his assistant Ian Hendon want from the players at the end of another eventful week for Ebbsfleet?

“What we always ask,” he said. “Go out on the park, give everything you’ve got, try to play football in the right areas and try to get a good result. That’s what we’re looking at.”
