Ebbsfleet United striker Danny Kedwell signs new contract

19:00, 22 June 2017

Danny Kedwell has signed his new contract at Ebbsfleet.

The 33-year-old, just back from holiday, had already told boss Daryl McMahon he was staying and has now put pen to paper on his new deal.

Former Gills skipper Kedwell is now set to lead Ebbsfleet into the National League after captaining them to play-off glory in the South division last season.

Kedwell was brought to Ebbsfleet by Jamie Day in January 2015.

He has played 107 games in two-and-a-half years at Stonebridge Road, scoring 32 goals, and took on the club captaincy last summer.

Kedwell becomes the 17th member of McMahon's squad for 2017-18 after one of his former Gills team-mates, Jack Payne, joined the club on Thursday.

Aaron McLean is also set to sign a new deal when he returns from holiday but Sam Deering is expected to join Bostik Premier side Billericay next week.
