Josh Payne makes his PDC World Darts Championship debut this weekend.

The Gravesend 23-year-old takes on 18th seed Terry Jenkins, nicknamed The Bull, at Alexandra Palace in London.

He’s second on in Saturday’s afternoon session which starts at 1pm.

Jenkins, a big crowd favourite at the Ally Pally, is widely accepted to be one of the best players never to win a major.

But he has previous when it comes to facing Kent debutants, suffering a shock first-round defeat by Ramsgate player Kirk Shepherd in 2007.

Jenkins missed four darts for the match that night and Shepherd went on a fairytale run to the final.

Payne is making a name for himself on the PDC circuit, reaching the last 16 of the Players Championship and the last 32 of the World Matchplay this season.

World No.1 Michael van Gerwin is favourite to take the crown, that was won last year by Gary Anderson.
