Steve Brown unsure when Ebbsfleet United will be able to start training at Fleet Leisure

Ebbsfleet United will not move into their new training ground for at least another two months.
Pitches at Fleet Leisure are not up to the standard required by manager Steve Brown and the Fleet squad are preparing for the new season at the Beaverwood Club in Chislehurst.
Brown is pleased to have found a quality alternative base but the new Ebbsfleet boss admitted the longer-term future is uncertain.
He said: “I’m not 100% sure what’s going on with Fleet Leisure. I leave that to the guys who are working hard behind the scenes.
“We’re at Chislehurst for the next eight weeks and then we’ll see what materialises."
Brown took a squad of just 16 players to Thamesmead on Saturday for Ebbsfleet’s first friendly of the summer after five trialists he had lined up pulled out at the last minute.
He said: “A couple of them trained with other clubs on Thursday and they weren’t fit enough to play on Saturday. Two were offered trials elsewhere and they felt they couldn’t let that person down.
“It was frustrating because I went into the game with 14 outfield players, it was boiling hot and it was difficult for the players. They’re a relatively-fit set of lads but I ended up with three or four of them sitting out.”
