A 10ft deep hole has opened up in a town centre this afternoon.
The pit was discovered in Herne Bay High Street, and engineers are on their way to fix it.
A workman at the scene said the void - thought to be a collapsed pothole - is at least 3m deep.
There is also believed to be a cellar underneath it.
Half the road has been closed off near the Happy Fryer chip shop, but traffic is passing via one lane.
