A paraglider was flown to hospital after ditching on The Downs above Herne Bay.
An emergency helicopter crew braved strong winds on Sunday early evening to land on the steep grass verge leading up to Beltinge and treat the victim.
The paraglider suffered injuries to his chest and lower legs and was taken to William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.
He was later transferred to King's College Hospital in London.
Dick Holness, who took these pictures at the scene, paid tribute to the pilot's skill, tweeting afterwards "Fancy piece of flying to put it down there".
