Air ambulance lands after crash on the Old Thanet Way, Herne Bay

A pedestrian has been airlifted to hospital after being hit by a car in Herne Bay.
The accident happened on the A2990 Old Thanet Way, near a new housing development on the former Herne Bay golf club site.
The air ambulance landed in the nearby Herne Bay Memorial Park.
Police were called to the scene at about 7.30pm and closed the road near its junction with Wye Green, while officers and paramedics dealt with the incident.
The injured pedestrian was airlifted to a London hospital for treatment.
The road had re-opened by about 9.10pm.
