Appeal after assault on cyclist

POLICE are seeking witnesses after a 45-year-old cyclist was assaulted as he and a friend rode along Heart in the Hand Road near Herne Bay.
The cyclists were overtaken by a red Audi convertible car and an altercation took place between them and those in the car at about 5.45pm on Wednesday, August 29.
The victim received a fractured cheek bone and bruising to the eye and was treated at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital.
Police spoke to a number of witnesses as traffic built up in the area but are urging anyone who saw the incident and has not yet spoken to an officer to contact Det Con Ron Smith on 01227 868296.
Two men, one aged 19 and the other 38, and a 41-year-old woman, all from Herne Bay, have been arrested by police in connection with the incident.
They been released on bail until October 26 pending further enquries.
