Herne Bay: man arrested after police seize 46 cannabis plants in The Broadway
17:16, 16 May 2018
A 28-year-old man has been arrested after a police raid led to the seizure of 46 cannabis plants.
Officers carried out the search yesterday at an address in The Broadway, Herne Bay, just before 1pm.
The man was arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and abstracting electricity.
PC Gareth Foreman said: "While we investigate this incident we would like to take the opportunity to urge people with information about illegal drugs in the Herne Bay district to come forward.
"There are often tell-tale signs of drug use and supply, which can include an increase in comings and goings at the address, strong smells of cannabis people loitering in the vicinity or short exchanges between people on the street.
"Every bit of information can help build a picture of drug supply and this enables us to carry out search warrants like this one."
The man has been released pending further investigation.
Anyone with information should call 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
