A man was found dead on a beach near Herne Bay this morning.

His body was discovered by a dog walker near Reculver Towers at around 6.56am.

Police and ambulance crews were called but the man was declared dead at the scene.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police were called at 6.56am on Saturday, July 28, after a dog walker on a beach near Reculver Towers, Herne Bay, came across a man who was believed to have died."

Offices say the death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner in due course.
