Bomb squad cordon by Hampton play park, Herne Bay after suspicious device found on beach

A bomb disposal squad cordoned off an area beside a play park after a "suspicious device" was found.
Police were called when a member of the public discovered the object on the beach off Swalecliffe Avenue in Hampton, Herne Bay, just after 11am.
A spokesman said: "Officers attended the scene and enforced a cordon to ensure public safety.
"Explosive Ordnance Disposal Experts from the Ministry of Defence attended, and confirmed it did not present a threat to the public before removing it from the scene."
