A DRAMATIC late-night car chase through the centre of a Kent town was ended with the use of police stinger devices.
Warren Ullyet, 18, of Sandown Drive, Herne Bay, now faces jail after admitting driving dangerously, drink-driving and driving while disqualified and with no insurance.
Officers gave chase on Friday, June 22, after responding to reports of a car being driven recklessly in the Sea Street area of Herne Bay shortly before midnight.
But they found themselves giving pursuit down Herne Bay High Street reaching speeds of almost 50mph.
Additional police cars joined the chase and stinger devices were thrown in front of the stolen vehicle in order to puncture the tyres.
Ullyet was arrested at 12.10am in Charles Street where officers caught up with him having continued the pursuit on foot.
At Canterbury Magistrates' Court on Monday, he pleaded guilty and was remanded in custody to appear at Crown Court for sentencing.
