A major road has been closed after a crash involving a lorry and a car.
The A299 Thanet Way was shut in both directions between Herne Bay and St Nicholas-at-Wade following the accident just after 1.45pm today.
Police were called to the scene, along with ambulance and fire service crews.
The London-bound carriageway has reopened, but as of 8.30pm the eastbound lanes remain closed.
A police spokesman said this afternoon: "We were called to a collision between a lorry and a car on the eastbound carriageway of the A299 between Herne Bay and St Nicholas-at-Wade.
"The coastbound carriageway is currently closed while the incident is responded to.
"Drivers are advised to seek alternative routes where possible."
Tailbacks are understood to be stretching back to Herne Common.
