Fire crews called to car fire in Kings Road in Herne Bay

Firefighters were called to a car fire in a residential area this morning.
One engine arrived in Kings Road in Herne Bay shortly before 7.30am.
A witness said the fire seeemed to start under the bonnet of the silver Ford KA and no one was hurt.
Motorists were diverted along Spenser Road while firefighters controlled the flames, which were out by 7.50am.
A spokesman from the force said: "KFRS was called to Station Road in Herne Bay at 7.31am to reports of a car on fire.
"One fire engine attended and firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames. There were no reported injuries and the cause isn’t yet known."
