Local celebrities and top acts from Britain’s Got Talent will be coming to Herne Bay to help raise money for victims of the Nepal earthquake.

Local music duo Kris Searle and Carl Crane have started up the Inspire U Music studio project on the pier, and are using their launch event on Saturday to raise funds.

They hope the new music studio will provide a space for people in Herne Bay to record music for fun or be the springboard to successful careers in the industry.

Inspire U Music spokesman Natasha Sutton said she has been contacting major celebrities and has secured acts to come to the pier throughout the day.

She said: “We’ve got bands like Kent-based group Coco and the Butterfields ,who have a huge following, as well as dancers from the Diversity Crew, Resolution Dance and the Amazeballs juggling crew.

“We’ve also got local talent like world champion dancer Belle Fisher coming down, and a top producer from EDM in London is coming to debut his new track.”

At the event there will be collection buckets for donations to the Nepal earthquake appeal, where more than 5,000 people have died.

Natasha added: “My heart literally stopped when I saw the news after the post on the avalanche. The team and I just couldn’t sit back and do nothing.

“The more we see the event come together the more it has inspired us. We’re proud of all the help we’ve had from the community.”

The fun is on Saturday from 12.30pm to 5.30pm. See www.musicstudioonthepier.co.uk.
