For the second time in as many months a popular children’s play centre has been broken into.
Burglars raided Playzone in Eddington Lane, Herne Bay, at midnight and fled with almost £50 in cash.
It is thought they managed to get in by breaking the lock on one of the windows and once inside also damaged office equipment.
Olga Barker, the team leader at Playzone, said: “We had the alarm on and we think it spooked them, so they would only have been here for a couple of minutes.
“We’re working with the police at the moment and they’ve taken the CCTV footage and fingerprints from the scene.
“They also took a brown shoe from the car park which we think belonged to one of the burglars.”
Playzone was also burgled last November, when four people damaged the building’s fire door, pulled one of its fences down and stole £250.
Staff members have spent the morning clearing up the mess left by the robbers.
The children’s play area remained untouched and was reopened at 3.30pm.
Police were called at 9am and are currently carrying out inquiries.
They have urged anyone with information to call 01843 222289, quoting the reference number 25-0219.
