Herne Bay Co-op worker 'attacked with a hammer'

A shop worker suffered a head injury after he was attacked by two men reportedly armed with a hammer.

Police were called to the Co-op food store in Sea Street, Herne Bay, at about 4pm yesterday.

Eyewitnesses have told KentOnline the member of staff was attacked with a hammer.

Officers say inquiries into the incident are ongoing.

They are urging anyone with information to call them on 01843 222289, quoting the reference number 46/140257/19.
