POLICE in part of Kent have praised local residents for helping them to find and close two cannabis factories.
The latest shutdowns took place in Arkley Road, Herne Bay and Westgate Close, Canterbury.
Two people were arrested and charged with cultivation of cannabis and electricity extraction. They are due to appear before magistrates in Canterbury today.
Ch Insp Lee Russell said: "The latest factory closure is a result of information handed to us from the community. It has resulted in tens of thousands of pounds worth of cannabis being seized."
Anyone who notices any suspicious behaviour in their area is asked to contact police.
