A FETISHIST who got sexual kicks from sending a young girl for a haircut has been jailed for six months. Lorry driver Richard Blakeborough, 48, impersonated a 10-year-old girl's mother to fool hairdressers into cutting her hair.
Canterbury magistrates heard how the father-of-two was parked in his lorry in Sea Street, Herne Bay, when he saw his blonde victim walk into a shop. Adopting a woman's voice, Blakeborough rang from his mobile phone and told shop staff his daughter was expected for a haircut.
As she went to the nearby hairdressers, he called staff there and, again purporting to be her mother, instructed them on how to cut his victim's hair. Paul Chamberlain, prosecuting, said: "He said her hair should be cut extra short above her ears."
Blakeborough, married and living in Scunthorpe, had been watching from his lorry but was scared off by suspicious staff at the first shop. He was arrested two days later in Humberside after police traced his mobile calls.
In police interview Blakeborough, who has previous convictions for an almost identical incident, admitted performing an indecent act shortly after he left the scene.
Leanne James, defending, said: "Since the age of seven or eight he has suffered from a specific sexual fantasy. The fantasy involves watching young girls of 10 to 15 having their hair cut and groomed by a hairdresser." Blakeborough admitted obtaining a £5 haircut by deception and sending a false message by telecom system.
He was given six months for each offence, to run concurrently. Court chairman Charles Wilkins said: "We cannot justify any other sentence. It involved elaborate planning and deviousness."
