Herne Bay: Cyclist injured in roundabout crash on Old Thanet Way

A man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after a cyclist in his 70s suffered serious injuries when he was hit by a car.
Police were called just after 10am to a roundabout on the Old Thanet Way in Herne Bay.
Officers arrested a 43-year-old man from the town on suspicion of dangerous driving following the incident.
The cyclist was flown to hospital in London via air ambulance, which landed on the Old Thanet Way.
Police stayed at the roundabout - which is close to the town's former golf club and links the A2990 with the A291 in Herne - for a number of hours.
They only reopened the coast-bound stretch at about 3pm.
The man arrested is currently in custody.
