Motorists can expect delays on the Thanet Way after a vehicle caught fire travelling between Whitstable and Herne Bay.
Police and fire crews have attended the scene on the Radfall Hill flyover, where a silver Peugeot was on fire.
A Kent Fire Service spokesman said crews were called just before 10am to the scene and used a hose reel to douse the flames.
The spokesman added that the fire was out at 10.10am, but fire crews are awaiting the arrival of police for traffic control because the car is in a dangerous position.
A Kent Police spokesman confirmed that officers are continuing with traffic control.
