Fire crews called to battle flames in stable fire alongside A299 Thanet Way near Herne Bay

A stable near Herne Bay has been burned to the ground after a fire broke out early this morning.

Two fire engines were called to the incident alongside the A299 Thanet Way at 6.50am after reports the structure was alight.

Thick black smoke was seen rising over the dual carriageway this morning while the firefighters battled the flames.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service spokesman Alan Bradford saidtwo engines attended the field and used hose reel jets to put out the flames. Fire crews left the scene by 7.30am.

He added: “No injuries to humans or animals were reported. The stable was completely destroyed by the fire. I don’t have a cause as yet.”
