Firefighters still tackling undergrowth blaze
00:00, 14 August 2003
FIREFIGHTERS are today still battling to put out a blaze in undergrowth in Herne Bay almost 24 hours after it started.
The undergrowth lit up yesterday lunchtime just off Thorndon Wood Road in Greenhill.
Four pumps are now in attendance and diggers are uprooting trees and peat to try to contain the blaze.
