A ROBBER brandishing what is thought to be a sawn off shotgun held up two security guards at a building society in Kent.
The guards were delivering money for cash machines at the Abbey National branch in Mortimer Street, Herne Bay, at about 10.30pm on Thursday.
Police spokesman Michael Ivatt said: "The robber threatened the guards who handed over a significant amount of money held in small grey cassettes."
The offender ran off towards Herne Bay seafront. Police are seeking a man described as white, with a stocky build, wearing a black bomber jacket and army style trousers.
No shots were fired and no one was injured during the robbery.
Anyone who can assist police is asked to contact Det Sgt Matthew Lavender at East Kent Police on 01227 762055.
