A young woman has been described as a “beautiful soul” and a “ray of sunshine” following her tragic death.
Touching tributes have poured in for Bella Goldsmith, who died in Eddington Lane, Herne Bay, yesterday.
The former Herne Bay High School pupil had been reported missing by loved ones the evening before.
Her death has sparked an outpouring of grief, with friends and family gathering for a colourful balloon release on the seafront and sharing touching tributes.
Turkish restaurant A La Turka posted on Facebook today: “Our hearts ache with sorrow and shock.
“Bella was a truly beautiful soul and she graced our lives with her warmth and laughter.
“She was an integral part of our family, and her passing away has left a significant void in our hearts.
“Although she left too soon, we will forever treasure the moments we shared and hold her close in our hearts.”
Dozens of tributes have also been left on Bella’s Facebook page, where people told of the last impact she will have on their lives.
Amy-Jayne Lambert wrote: “Our beautiful, silly, gorgeous girl.
“You will forever be remembered for that infectious laugh, silly banter and being a ray of sunshine!”
Luke Barratt shared a video tribute to Bella, describing her as “the most popular, caring and loyal friend”.
“I'm so heartbroken that you have left us for now,” he wrote.
“Giving, caring, generous and brave. You were the light for all of us Bells.”
Jennifer-Rose Murphy posted: “I will never have the right words, but what I will say is your bubbly energy, crazy sense of humour and enthusiasm will be sorely, sorely missed.
“You’re one in a million and I’m gutted that my little girl isn’t gonna have the chance to meet you.”
Floral tributes, candles and cards have been left near the scene of Bella’s death, which police are not treating as suspicious.
A spokesman said: “Kent Police officers attended land near Eddington Lane, Herne Bay, at 1.15pm on Thursday following concern for a woman.
“A woman in her 20s was pronounced deceased at the scene.
“The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.”
