Emergency services were scrambled to the coast in the early hours after a report of a person in need of help at sea.
The RNLI lifeboat, Coastguard, police and ambulance service were all sent to the scene in Herne Bay shortly before 2.30am.
Whitstable RNLI says it launched after receiving a report that someone had entered the water near Herne Bay Clocktower.
But while en-route, the crew was informed the casualty was ashore with the Herne Bay Coastguard Rescue Team.
The Coastguard says it found them the beach.
The ambulance service confirmed it attended the scene, but the person had already left the area.
