A man is due to appear before Maidstone Crown Court today, charged with murdering his daughter at a Herne Bay caravan park and attempting to murder another woman.
Richard Kray appeared before Medway magistrates on Monday, where the case was sent up to crown court.
The 63-year-old is charged with the murder of Olivia Kray, who died at Westlands Caravan Park on Friday, July 21.
She died after being allegedly attacked outside the caravan park opposite the Canterbury Garden Centre in Herne Common, Herne Bay, and was declared dead at the scene
Kray, who lives on the caravan park, was arrested and charged with her murder and the attempted murder of a second person, believed to be his partner, at a separate address in the town on the same day.
The other victim didn't need hospital treatment.
Now Kent Police has referred the matter to the Independent Police Complaints Commission due to previous contact between victims and police.
Jade Blackmer, who went to Hampton Primary School with Olivia, said she was a caring person.
“She was the most quiet and polite young girl going,” Jade said.
“She was very reserved and conscious of others, she didn’t smile often but when she did it lit up the room."
