THE grief-stricken family of a boy "who had everything to live for" are trying to come to terms with his death.
David Love, 12, was found unconscious in his bedroom by his mother Caroline. Somehow, while playing, he had managed to strangle himself with a cord.
His family is utterly convinced he had not meant to hurt himself and his death was a tragic accident.
Mrs Love said: "He was full of life and had everything to look forward to. Twelve-year-olds do silly things and you can’t watch them all the time.
"There was nothing in his life to suggest there was anything wrong and we really don’t think he was trying to hurt himself."
David, who lived in Sunnyhill Road, Herne Bay, was a pupil at Herne Bay High School and head teacher Danny O’Donovan said everyone at the school was devastated by his death.
He said: "David was an enthusiastic, hard-working student who will be sorely missed by both his teachers and year group friends.
David would have been 13 on September 2 and his parents have chosen this day to hold his funeral.
They are hoping his friends will attend the service at St Mary’s Church, Reculver, at 1pm to remember a boy who loved swimming, drumming and cooking and one day wanted to be a famous chef.
