Person dies after being hit by train near Herne Bay

A person has sadly died after being hit by a train.
Emergency services are at the scene of the incident, which happened on the line near Herne Bay.
A British Transport Police spokesman said: "BTP were called to the line near Herne Bay at 9.56am this morning following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Officers are working to identify the deceased and inform their next of kin.
"This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
Trains have been suspended between Margate and Faversham.
In a tweet, a Southeastern spokesman wrote: "Sadly we have had a report of a person being hit by a train between Faversham and Margate.
"Trains in the area are at a stand while emergency services attend."
