A police car has been badly damaged after crashing into a broadband box this afternoon.
Pictures from the scene in Canterbury Road, Herne Bay, show the crumpled front bumper of the vehicle, while the green street furniture has been flattened.
An eyewitness says the crash occurred as the police car was going past with its sirens on and “side-swiped” another vehicle.
A police spokesman said: “At around 1.35pm, a Kent Police car which was responding to an emergency call was involved in a two-vehicle collision at the junction of Canterbury Road and Mill View Road, Herne Bay.
“No serious injuries have been reported.”
The eyewitness, who wishes to remain anonymous, said: “The police car side-swiped another vehicle while it had its sirens on.
“The crash completely took out the broadband box and the brick box on the roadside.
“There were two passengers in the other car who were both left shaken up.”
