Police launch appeal after cat killed in Herne Bay

Police are hunting an animal killer after a pet cat was found dumped in Herne Bay.

Officers discovered the lifeless animal in Chestnut Drive, Greenhill, and quickly launched an appeal for information.

It is thought the black and white cat had been killed at some time between midnight on Tuesday and 7.45am on Wednesday this week.

Police have not revealed the exact nature of the cat's injuries but say they are not consistent with it being hit by a car or attacked by another animal.

They also say they believe the incident to be isolated and no other pets are thought to be at risk.
