Police probe after ‘man’s ashes’ stolen from car in Sea Street, Whitstable

Officers are appealing for information after a man’s ashes were reportedly stolen from a car.
Police were called on Wednesday, July 10 following reports a car had been broken into in Sea Street, Whitstable, overnight between Tuesday, July 9 and the following day.
A backpack was stolen from the vehicle, which is believed to contain a man's ashes.
Cash, sunglasses and keys were also taken.
The backpack, which is described as orange and turquoise, is reported to contain a tube with a woodland scene on it, which held the cremated remains.
Anyone with information, or who has seen the backpack or the tube, is urged to call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting reference 46/114624/24.
