12:00, 11 February 2016
Police have released a CCTV image of a woman they want to question after a 90-year-old had her purse swiped from her bag.
The victim was shopping in Peacocks in Mortimer Street, Herne Bay on Saturday, January 30, when she was reportedly targeted.
Officers would now like to speak to a woman who was in the area at the time of the alleged theft, as they believe she could have information which would help with their investigation.
At around 11.30am, the victim was carrying a large cream handbag, which was zipped shut, when she suddenly felt it become lighter.
She then realised it had been opened and the purse containing cards and cash was missing.
Anyone with information about the woman in the CCTV or about the incident itself should contact PC Paul Dormer on 01843 222289 quoting ZY/3225/16.
