Firefighters urged residents to close windows and doors as they tackled a garage fire.
Plumes of smoke were being blown across Bullockstone Road in Herne Bay and its surrounding areas due to windy conditions this morning.
Crews were called to the garage at a residential property shortly after 5am, with two fire engines arriving at the scene.
Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze.
The flames were extinguished at about 7.30am.
Weather warnings were in force for parts of the county today.
Forecasters said wind gusts could reach up to almost 55mph inland but up to 65mph in exposed coastal areas.
The warning came into force at 9pm yesterday and remained in place until 9am today.
