Seven people, including four children, were led to safety after their dinghies were blown out to sea.

Now a warning about using inflatables has now been issued after the incident at Herne Bay yesterday afternoon.

Whitstable RNLI Inshore Lifeboat was called out to assist but found the occupants were helped back to shore by a passing jet-ski.

The crew has passed on safety advice and is urging sea users to be mindful of strong currents and winds.

The lifeboat was launched again on Sunday morning at 5.45am to help a broken down angling dory with two fisherman onboard reported off the King’s Hall, Herne Bay.

The crew located the vessel at anchor but with no power and a lifeboat crew member went aboard to helpwith the tow back to Neptune Jetty, Herne Bay.

The craft and its occupants, who both come from Whitstable, were landed into the care of the Herne Bay Coastguard.

The craft had suffered a jammed starter solenoid.
