A major Herne Bay road is closed this morning as fire crews tackle a van alight.

They were called to Margate Road after 9am after reports that a van carrying pallets had caught fire.

Eyewitness Roger Fry was passing when he saw the incident.

"It was fairly well going when I passed," Mr Fry said.

"The road is shut at the moment and I'm sure it will stay like that for a while as they clear it up."
