Commuters heading towards London are facing delays after a train hit a tree near Herne Bay this afternoon.
Southeastern bosses were forced to stop services on the line from the town towards the capital following the incident just before 2pm - they reopened just before 4pm.
Emergency replacement buses were running between Faversham and Ramsgate while Network Rail engineers moved the tree from the tracks.
A Southeastern spokesman said: "Passengers are still on the stationary train for the time being.
"The tree was already on the track and the train was unable to stop in time before it hit it."
The spokesman added that services between Herne Bay and Ramsgate are running, but there are delays.
