Station's healthy new look

00:00, 25 October 2007

A MAJOR £200,000 revamp was unveiled at Herne Bay ambulance station on Saturday.

Services staff organised a special open day at the Sea Street station to celebrate the work.

Paramedic Colin Gardner said: "The station was built in 1969 and apart from a lick of paint 20 years ago it hasn’t had anything done to it.

"We now have a station which is more fitting for a modern ambulance service, with great training facilities and a quiet area for staff, as well as better equipped offices.

"We are absolutely delighted with the new facilities."

See this week's Herne Bay Gazette for more pictures of the open day and details of the improvements.
