Teenager charged with robbery after boy stabbed in Avenue Road, Herne Bay

A 16-year-old has been charged with robbery after a teenage boy was stabbed in Herne Bay.
The victim needed hospital treatment after the alleged attack in Avenue Road, during which his iPhone was stolen.
The suspect appeared at Folkestone Youth Court today over the incident, which happened at about 10.30pm on February 9.
A police spokesman said: "The victim sustained an injury consistent with a stab wound and had his phone stolen following an altercation in the Avenue Road area of the town.
"Following an investigation by the Kent Crime Squad, a 16-year-old boy from the Herne Bay area was arrested in relation to the incident.
"The suspect has since been charged with robbery, causing grievous bodily harm with intent, possessing a flick knife and possessing cannabis."
The victim and his friend are said to have been walking in the Avenue Road area when he got into an altercation with the suspect.
The boy suffered a single stab wound and had his green iPhone 13 stolen.
Following the incident, the victim and his friend – also a teenage boy – flagged down a driver who then took them to hospital.
The suspect is due to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on March 3.
