Teenage motorcyclist taken to William Harvey Hospital after collision with car in Canterbury Road near Herne Common

A 19-year-old motorcyclist has been taken to hospital following a collision with another car near Herne Common this morning.
Police and paramedics were called to the accident near Canterbury Fields development in Canterbury Road before 8am.
On Facebook Maria Frost commented: “I live in Canterbury Fields and saw this as I left for work this morning.
“Police were directing cars through. I saw the man on the bike, the ambulance crews were looking after him.”
The accident took place near a stretch of road which is notorious for accidents, with a car overturning and crashing into two other vehicles on Friday.
Police spokesman Lisa Humphrys said: “We were called at 7.43am to a collision between a car and motorbike at Herne Common, Herne Bay.
“The teenage motorcyclist is being taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford. He is not believed to be seriously injured.”
Ambulance service spokesman Rich Airey said the 19-year-old was assessed at the scene and treated for leg pain, and taken to hospital for further checks.
