A teenager left critically ill after his car hit a tree in the early hours of the morning has died in hospital.
Jack Mosley, 19, suffered serious head injuries in the crash on the Old Thanet Way at Herne Bay at 2.30am on September 23.
Following his death this weekend after six weeks in a London hospital, friends have held a vigil tonight in Hampton, where balloons were released in his memory.
Some took to Facebook to pay tribute to Jack, who is a former student of Herne Bay High School and Canterbury College.
Emily Sharkey wrote: “Heartbroken is an understatement. You were the kindest person I’d ever met and you never failed to put a smile on everyone’s face.
“I hope you’re still smiling Jack Mosley. I‘ll never forget you and all the memories we have.
“You will always have a very special place in my heart.”
Ashley White added: “True friend. One of the best. Gone but not forgotten. Love you always Jack Mosley. RIP.”
Oocean Wanstall posted: “We love you Jack Mosley. Rest in sweet paradise. Gone but never forgotten. Forever missed. Shine bright tonight.”
After the crash, police issued an appeal to find anyone who saw Jack’s blue Vauxhall Corsa leave the road as it headed from Chestfield towards Greenhill.
Witnesses were urged to call the serious collision investigation unit on 01622 798538, quoting MS/213/17.
