Traffic delays after rush hour accidents
09:02, 30 January 2009
Icy conditions on Friday morning caused two accidents on the coastbound carriageway of the Thanet Way.
A Rover careered off the road near Reculver into a field, before rolling onto its roof at 7.11am.
The male driver received treatment at the scene for head injuries and minor bleeding. Further along the carriageway towards Herne Bay, around 7.45am, a Volkswagen Lupo skidded on ice before being involved in a minor shunt with another vehicle.
No serious injuries were reported, but both accidents have caused heavy congestion and delays for people during the morning rush hour.
