Loud bang heard in Herne Bay

A controlled explosion has been carried out in Herne Bay following the discovery of a Second World War device.
Police confirmed they were called to a building site near Bullockstone Road.
Officials said a controlled explosion was carried out by explosive ordnance disposal experts at 6.30pm.
They said residents may have heard a bang, but there was no cause for alarm.
