A fire has broken out in a bungalow with large plumes of smoke billowing from the roof.
The fire service warned residents in Herne Bay to keep doors and windows shut as a precaution.
The blaze began at about 1pm and several crews sent to the scene in Mickleburgh Avenue.
Five fire engines and a height vehicle were dispatched.
Crews wearing breathing apparatus are using hose reel jets and main jets to bring the fire under control.
A fire service spokesman said: “Please share this advice with loved ones in the affected area, who might not have access to the internet.”
The fire had been extinguished by 5pm and the incident reduced to one fire engine and the earlier advice to keep doors and windows shut removed.
