A woman has been pulled from a smoking car after crashing into barriers outside a pharmacy.
The front of her hatchback was caved in after she careered into roadside railings in The Avenue, Herne Bay.
Stunned onlookers rushed to help the driver as smoke and fluid poured from the wreckage.
Mandy Casey, who works in the nearby Borno Pharmacy, watched the drama unfold.
"We all heard this really loud bang so rushed outside," she said.
"There was already a crowd of people around. There was a woman driving the car - she said she was 37.
"Some people helped her out of the vehicle because there was smoke coming out of it. There was also what looked like water, but I think it turned out to be radiator fluid.
"It's lucky the crash barrier was there or she would have driven straight into the pharmacy."
Police and fire crews joined paramedics at the scene at about 10.30am.
The driver was treated in the back of an ambulance.
